If you asked me to name one of my absolute favorite flavors in the world? It's an orange creamsicle. There's an ice cream shop in my town that makes a killer soft serve orange sherbet and vanilla ice cream twist, that I Would Give You A Puppy to be able to eat again. I would give away my bypass and take a one-day pass for a big ole cuppa orange creamsicley twisty ice cream, with assorted colored sprinkles, please.
But, seeing as that's not going to happen? I could just deal with the stupid sugar-free pops in the freezer. But, I don't. I don't like those. I Want Creamy Goodness!
I normally don't buy five pound jugs or bags of protein powder, because, "what if it tastes like ass?" But - I was in this store, and I saw this flavor: Orange Cream?! No way. I gotta try it.
After the initial shock of, "How much is this store charging for this bag of protein?" I realized that I may actually really enjoy this flavor and use it all the time - it's probably worth it. So, I caved.
It's so worth it. Oh My Dog, it's delicious. When I first opened the bag, I could smell the orange and vanilla flavors - and I was immediately excited to try it. You need to know - I broke my blender with the last go-round of protein shake making - so I had to bring this to work to use it.
I've been making it like this:
1 scoop Matrix 5.0 Orange Cream
16 oz ice
4 oz water
1 oz sugar-free vanilla syrup
1 orange slice
Blend at highest power, enjoy! Alternatively, you could use skim milk or soy milk for the liquid, both taste awesome in this shake. I am not a fan of straight protein shakes, I generally doctor everything up - but I would drink this simply mixed with water if necessary. It's that good. I'm very happy with it.

I tried a sample of this from one of the body builder guys from work. I love it. I don't buy much protein powder myself but this is great. I add a banana or some yogurt and 1% milk. MMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!

I get the chocolate flavor and mix it with my SF Hot Chocolate. It's YUMMY and so smooth (but mix it in cold water b/f adding it to the hot). I'll have to recommend the orange to my Mom.

Ok, I'll have to give this a try. The Matrix chocolate is my favorite protein powder to mix with milk (although it does taste fine w/ water I use milk for the extra protein boost). Now that winter is here I'm mixing it with warm milk to get the hot chocolate fix like mentioned above. It would be nice to have a new flavor to try. I bounce between Maxtrix and Nectar pretty exclusively.
I'm trying to up the protein as I'm one week out from a thigh & booty lift. So far, so good. :)

I will definately try this becasue you have found me several of my favorite protien sources starting with the Matrix 5.0 cookies and cream. I also want to tell you about a protein power I found at GNC called Amplify. I'm a mint girl and they have a chocolate mint flavor that is sooo flippin good I will pay the astro-hugenous price for it. (2 lb container was $39.00.) Seeing how much you love the mint ohh yea snack bars I thought you might be interested in this.

If I only knew! I've been using all the Matrix proteins for a while. Cookies and cream is my favorite. I have a bag of Orange Cream I'm just dying to get rid of! E-mail me if interested - seriusly.
The allure of the matri proteins for me was the fact that they are sustained release. My Bariatric professional told me that as a post-op, we don't realize the sustained release functionality of the protein, because of the malabsorption -- I guess it would make sense. I still enjoy the flavor though.
Have you heard anything to corroborate what he's told me?

I'll do some Googling...
But, anyways - Donna, do you hate it? I don't need it - I've got five lbs. here... but...........anyone else would like it?
