Zero Carb Chocolite Chocolate Peanut Butter Patties: Tastes like a Reeses with No Farts!

I guess I am on a roll with the nuts this week.  Wait, that didn't come out quite right.

I got to try a sample of a product that isn't quite for sale yet - it's getting dressed in new packaging - a sugar free chocolate peanut butter patty candy.  Right now, it's available as a sample-only from Linda's Diet Delite's with a $30.00 purchase, or you can be put on the mailing list for the product's release very soon.
The stats:

  • 40 calories
  • 3g fat
  • 7g carbohydrate
  • 6g fiber
  • 1g of sugar alcohol
  • 1g protein
  • 0 net carbs

Ingredients:  polydextrose, peanuts, oligofructose, erythritol, cocoa butter, chocolate liquor, calcium carbonate, whey protein concentrate, salt, soy lecithin, sucralose.

That's it for the ingredients, can't really go wrong here.
I gave one to Mr. MM, and he snarfed it down, not giving it time to melt in his mouth and really review the flavors.

He said, "Mmm, it's good, where'd you get these?  Have more?  No sugar?"

Then, he took another, and I had to grab the last one before he stole it and I was left with none to review.

I, on the other hand, took the time to sit, relax, and bite my candy here at the computer, and make note of the experience for you people of the interweb.

The Chocolite Zero Carb Peanut Butter Patties are small - but - that would be expected of a 40 calorie sugar-free snack, and I believe the serving size is two - for a total of 80 calories.

The first taste bite was dark-chocolaty, and quite good, better than expected for a sugar-free chocolate candy.  The outer chocolate covering was yummy, and not sweet, not intense.

(I am generally not a fan of mainstream produced sugar-free candy, mainly because most of it makes me horribly sick.  Think about any of the typical candies made into sugar-free versions - they are asking for death by gas.  See example below = DEATH BY GAS??)

The inside of the Chocolite Peanut Butter Patty is sort of like a "Reese's Peanut Butter Cup," with a dry-crumbly peanut butter filling that is quite tasty, very tasty.  If I had more - I would have tossed them in the freezer, because that's where my stash goes, where I can hide it from the kids.

And these?  Part of my chocolate stash from now on, because - they didn't make me fart and they taste really good.  Just keeping it real.
