Because? The spouse is home today, and won't quit doing his homework on the Mac, and I wanted to be lazy and pull names on video. And, the kids are coming home right now, which means chaos will ensue in approximately twenty minutes.
Wanna Free Shaker Cup? Click here and fill out the questions. I'm doing it now, because, I'm all about a free shaker cup. As for the protein, um, it's been about four years since I tried Spiru-tein. I remember it being the FIRST protein powder I ever tasted while freshly post-op, in serious physical pain from my weight loss surgery and nauseous.
When I see the containers of Spiru-tein at the store, I equate it with OMG, The Pain! The Vicodin! So. I haven't reviewed it. Maybe it's time.
I have, in my possession, a whole lot of Low Carb Specialties newest bars, which are described as:
"Decadence at a whole new level! The Livin' La Vida Low-Carb Bar tastes
and feels like a dark raspberry truffle. It melts in your mouth for an
absolutely divine experience."
I had to giggle, because Jimmy Moore is on the wrapper of these bars. Jimmy Bars.
I opened, sniffed, I expected an over-whelming raspberry smell. It was a good mix of chocolate and a slight touch of raspberry. The bar looked great, nice and creamy. I immediately broke it by accident. These raspberry bars, as opposed to the other Low Carb Specialties Chocolate Bars, are much softer in texture. You can see in the photo that I cracked it and put it back together. :x
My first bite was taken a bit apprehensively, I wasn't sure if the "raspberry," would be intermingled in the chocolate, a "jelly," or something else, and I wanted to be completely neutral about my reaction. I bit into it like it was going to be a jelly donut, waiting for a squirt. It didn't happen.
What did happen - was a delightful surprise - the center of this bar? A dark chocolate raspberry truffle-like filling. It's not so much like a truffle, where the layers are totally separate, this chocolate is all mingled together, but it was different enough inside that I enjoyed letting it melt on my tongue.
Initially, I ate half a bar, to test the "digestive features" of this fiber-filled sugar-free dark chocolate bar. NO ROOM CLEARING GAS WAS PRODUCED. That's because, partly, due to the fact that there is no maltitol in Low Carb Specialties Products, but, with the fiber, it can cause gas, so I test the products in smaller quantities. I've eaten two full bars since, and I'm good! No farts! *happy dance* (Only on a weight loss surgery blog can we get away with discussing the farts caused by foods.)
I'm loving the Livin' La Vida Low Carb Dark Chocolate Raspberry bars.

Purchased - Low Carb Specialties Sample for Review purposes, and giving away! Also available through Netrition (links on the sidebar) cheaper there with high-dollar orders, add it to your stock-up orders.
Pros - low carb, 60% dry cocoa high quality chocolate, made with erythritol - no maltitol, low glycemic, doesn't effect blood sugar levels for reactive hypoglycemics (like me) or diabetics, an be used in recipes. I think I might do something very sinful with a few of this batch of bars also.
Cons - Not available on the East Coast/US in stores yet, so you have to buy it online in bulk, it is pricey, but it's quality.
I tried to make a video for this giveaway, because I've been prompted to, "please, make some stupid videos, we like them, you're silly," but you know this sounds like an excuse: "I can't get the flipping camera to work on my laptop."
I am hereby giving the laptop about 60 give or take days to die completely, at which time Bob will wig out because he will be in a new class in his online college courses, and we cannot. share. our. toys. and he'll need to buy mama a new computer. I mean, this one was a replacement too, but, you get what you pay for, and when are technology companies going to come out with waterproof and kid-proof and Beth-proof product?
I need a portable, water-proofed, nearly in-destructable, anti-spam, anti-terrorist, super-duty, super-huge memory, wicked-fast, photo-editing, music-holding, baby-sitting, dinner-making, wireless computer that I can take camping and to the hospital for various infusions of body liquids that won't whimper at the sight of needles and burn my legs.
Congratulations, Sarah (Sarahlicious07 at Yahoo Dot Com)! You win a big box of goodies.
I woulda taken photos of the event, but my winner picker went to bed because she did naughty things and she was super tired by the time I go to this, so I sorta just went down the list with my eyes shut and went "Eenie, meenie, miney, mo, this one."
Your box is ready. I am waiting on one more item to add, and it's off. Email me with a mailing address.
PS. The next contest will be very soon, come back to check and ready for more reader-participation, I am going to make you work.
If you're a fellow WLS'er, chances are, don't have much belly space for pasta, if at all - and if you do - it's got to be the good stuff. Pasta choices have grown exponentially recently with lots of great additions like, Ronzoni's Healthy Harvest Line. I will be posting a review, family-style of these pastas very soon. (As for us, we only eat whole grain pastas, so this is old hat to my house. My kids don't even bat an eye anymore.)

Everyone has a story to tell. You may think your everyday life is boring and no one else would want to read about it - you are wrong - it's those stories that are usually the best to follow. Just think about the most successful blogs out there - they are so simple and yet - can you pull away? One that comes to mind for me? The Pioneer Woman. Simple, right? Yet, I read her feed as soon as it pops up. Simple living, simple recipes, gorgeous photos, that's it.
Other blogs bore me instantaneously and I scroll through posts looking for interesting or apparently "simple" things to read. Some blogs make you want to take an overdose of Benadryl, the droning on about housework and Little Madison's newest success on the potty! I realize I write a lot of stupid crap like that too, but it's not what I like to read, I am a supersonic scroller, thanks to my non-ADHD I tend to look for the most special-est part of a page and move on. Gee, I'm rambling...look a chicken!
So whassa point? Link to your own blathering in the comments. I have two dozen chocolate bars to give away. I don't know if I want to send one to each or a half dozen to four winners, let me choose, I like choosing things, it's my favorite.
*Blogger + Wordpress - they're free. Typepad has levels of free and not free, I think. If you feel the urge and I don't make you want to poke your eyes out with string cheese (that wouldn't hurt too bad) link to me.
Did you know Fiber One provides 57% of the average adults daily fiber requirement, has 0 grams of sugar and 60 calories per serving? And, you can hide it in your food, and your kid's food.
