Pure Protein Revolution

We were out and about today, I didn't bring anything with me to eat (typical) and I was hungry when I found myself in a convenience store WITH a Dunkin Donuts. I bought a Pure Protein Revolution bar instead of the croissants that might have called my name.

The Revolution bar is a candy-bar type bar, it's got that whole layered look going on, like a thin Snickers bar.

Get a triple dose of good taste with Protein Revolution. This deliciously sinful protein bar is three layers of pure low carb/high protein indulgence. Packed with over 15 essential nutrients, this chocolate peanut caramel bar includes 25 percent of your daily value for calcium. With 32 grams of protein and only 3 net carbs per serving, Protein Revolution is perfect for high protein/low carbohydrate dieters looking for a mouth-watering way to get their daily nutrition.

As a meal replacement or diet addition, Protein Revolution can be incorporated into many dieting plans, but is especially good for high/low carbohydrates dieters. Protein Revolution helps you deal with those annoying hunger pangs that may occur while following a low carb diet.

But, too bad it does not taste anywhere near that good. The texture was so-so, chewy and a bit like a candy-bar, but too chewy, thick and pasty. The initial taste was okay. Good enough that I thought, "I could eat this again."

But, after a few chews, nasty sour protein taste ensued. I am started to think it's me, because I handed it to Bob and he ate it with a SMILE, "This is GOOOOOD!" That was, until he was finished and got the aftertaste. Ha.

The bar contains 280 calories and 32! grams of protein with only 2 grams of sugar.  It's also got 25% of the DV of vitamins, and makes a good meal replacement.

Protein Blend (Whey Protein Mix [Whey Protein Hydrolysate, Whey Protein Isolate], Gelatin Hydrolysate), Caramel Filling (Malitol Syrup, Nonfat Milk, Fractioned Palm Kernel Oil, Heavy Cream, Glycerin, Butter, Salt, Natural Flavor, Disodium Phosphate, Carrageenan, Soy Lecithin), Chocolate Coating (Maltitol, Fractioned Palm Kernel Oil, Whey Protein Concentrate, Cocoa Powder [Processed With Alkali], Calcium Carbonate, Natural Flavor, Soy Lecithin Sucralose), Glycerin, Water, Soy Crisps (Soy Protein Isolate, Tapioca Starch, Malt Extract), Dry Roasted Peanuts, Natural Flavor, Vitamin and Mineral Blend (Ascorbic Acid, Ferrous Fumarate, Tricalcium Phosphate, D-alpha Tocopheryl Acetate, Niacinamide, Zinc Oxide, Copper Gluconate, Calcium D-pantothenate, Vitamin A Palmitate, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Thiamin Mononitrate, Riboflavin, Folic Acid, Biotin, Potassium Iodide, Cyanocobalamin), Sucralose.

No thanks.
