Truffulls by FullBar

I know you're already over there making faces, BUT, not everybody has a bypass, you know.  And, some of us with The Appetite could use a little somethin' that is chocolate now and then, and if it has protein and fiber?  Sign us up.

I got a sample of Truffulls from Dr. Snyders' FullBar line today.  And, seeing as it's That Time Of Day, I opened it immediately.

   Picture 10

Truffulls are a breakthrough in weight-loss technology. Combining the filling effects of beFull products with the decadent tastes of chocolate caramel and chocolate mint to help you satisfy your sweet tooth, sate your hunger and help you lose weight, because when you feel full, you eat less. And when you eat less, you lose weight."

120 calories, 3.5 grams of fat,  5 grams of fiber, 8 grams of protein and 8 grams of sugar.  It comes in two pieces, so if you're having just half, cut those in half, please.  (Which is what I would recommend if you are a gastric bypasser anyway.)

Each piece is not unlike a regular candy-bar half, but flat.  I tried the MINT first.  Because it's my preference.  It had a strong mint aroma and was drizzled with mint.  For a moment, I forgot it "wasn't candy," but it is, a bit.  It's super dense and chewy, takes a bit of chewing, but it was chocolaty and super minty, and I really liked it.

For a NON-WLS person - this is a between meal or before meal snack, meant to help fill you BEFORE YOUR MEAL.  You're supposed to eat it to avoid overeating at your meal.

For the WLS person with LIMITED capacity - this may be inappropriate for you - particularly early post op.

Now, that said, I am nearly six years post op, and can eat a normal diet.  A Truffull bar is well within my capacity and limits.  This would be entirely appropriate in between meals, 1/2 here, 1/2 there as a treat.

I see this as a candy alternative.  120 calories and 8 grams of sugar vs. what I could ingest with no satiety.  (Hello Chocolate Bar with 22 grams of sugar and 200+ calories!)

And, I will be having more.
