Updated - Bariatric Eating .com - SML - Susan Maria Leach fails to fill customer orders - and does not respond to complaints in timely fashion
04/27/2012
D-rama.
I made an order for two items at Bariatric Eating.com on Sunday, April 15th, 2012.
I paid for FedEx 2-Day Express shipping at the cost of $47 on my products which were listed as in-stock and ready to ship. It's now nearly a week later and I have not received any tracking information nor any indication that there would be any delay in filling my order.
"â...check the web siteâs privacy policy. It should be easy to understand, and should tell you how your information is used and whether it is sold to other companies. In addition, there should be specific information on your rights to stop payment on damaged goods or faulty service. The refund and return policies should be straightforward and include information on how to register a complaint. Also, you should be told when you should expect delivery of the product. There should be a phone number and address so that you can call or write to the company in the event of a problem. If this information isnât available, consider how difficult it may be to make yourself heard, should a problem arise." -Call For Action.com
Email, phone and Facebook contacts have been fruitless, as there is zero customer service responding to myself (not surprising... I personally did not expect any response, full disclosure, this business owner hates my guts with a passion...) and countless other customers.
There are various phone and email contacts to be found, but none seem to lead to results. You can try Google for former numbers and current, all fail.
The contact page on the site leads here (THESE ARE BLANK PAGES)
The "phone" option leads here:
Posts on social media from other customers note their distress -- however all negative mentions of missing product are deleted from the Bariatric Eating Facebook page.
And THIS?! The STORE IS CLOSED?!
Here are a few that are visible right now and coming in via the survey - click to enlarge any/all.

While not responding publicly -- nor what seems to be at ALL -- to customer complaints, staff at BE.com is clearly posting non-related items to social media: ie $2500.00 Louboutin Shoes and empty chatter to fill the page.

A few reviews found in my first Google Search -
Better Business Bureau -
The SSL certificate is no longer clickable and leads nowhere.
Also, noted, that the verbiage on sales page for Believe Ready To Drink Protein now includes this, which was not on the site when I purchased a case of the product -
Please note the way this was hastily written:
In other words -
- They can take your order,
- Charge your credit card,
- But will NOT provide any indication as to when the product might arrive to THEM
- Or when it will reach YOU.
- Nor can you call, email or otherwise ASK about your order which you pay for.
The main Bariatric Eating website is no longer functioning appropriately and has multiple countless broken and strange links.
Customers are not being told the truth.
I'm a little concerned.
Under the Uniform Deceptive Trade Practices Act, if a business or person engages in the following, the action constitutes a deceptive trade practice:
-Advertises goods or services with intent not to sell them as advertised
-Advertises goods or services with intent not to supply reasonably expected public demand, unless advertisement discloses a limitation of quantity
-Makes false or misleading statements of fact concerning the reasons for, existence of, or amounts of price reductions
-Engages in any other conduct which similarly creates the likelihood of confusion or of misunderstanding
You want to ask about confusion?
Note this - A BRAND NEW WEBSITE, nearly perfectly functioning and everything is IN STOCK! As of 4/21/2012 at 5:30pm.
Wait, WHAT?
But remember what BE says!
Customers deserve better. I know I may take a loss, but a review is a review and that's the chance I take. And, regardless of any history between myself as a blogger and BE, it's not about me. I really don't care about the product, I care about the community. This product is found elsewhere anyway. No big.
Customers who are waiting on undelivered orders - or other related customer service issues - I want to hear from you.
